Shoulder Joint Pain/Stiffness; Frozen Shoulder

Shoulder ailments are quite common. Frozen shoulder (also called Peri-arthritis of the shoulder) is an ill­understood disorder characterised by an uniform limitation of all shoulder-movements.

Homeopathic Treatment

Check if most symptoms of any of these remedies closely match with most of your symptoms:

Bryonia 30 : Severe pain, made worse by slightest motion, compelling the patient to keep still. Application of heat also worsens the pain. Absolute rest, gentle massage and lying on the affected shoulder help to relieve pain.

Chelidonium 30 : Pain in the right shoulder spreading to right upper back. Pain is worse from movement of the shoulder and on touching but better from pressure (massage).

Ferrum met: For pain in left shoulder, making it difficult for the victim to raise the arm. Pain gets worse from rest but is relieved by gently moving about the arm.

Rhus tox 30 : There is a feeling of stiffness, soreness and pain in the shoulder which is worse after rest (inactivity) but gradually diminishes on moving the shoulder or applying dry heat.

Sanguinaria 30 : For right-sided frozen shoulder accompanied by burning in palms and soles. Pain is worse from movement of the shoulder and better by rest and sleep.

Syphilinum 30 : Frozen shoulder, with stiffness and pain that spreads into the arm-bone. Pain is especially troublesome during the night (preventing sleep). It increases from heat-treatment but decreases on pouring cold water.

Notes:

1. Discontinue the medicine as soon as about fifty per cent improvement has occurred. Restart the medicine if symptoms worsen again or reappear later.
2. If none of the above-listed medicines seems matching or if no improvement occurs even after taking ten doses of the selected medicine, consult a competent homoeopathic doctor.
