Acne Information - Acne Treatment and Solutions

Definition

Acne is a chronic disorder of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. In acne a patient may have problems like black heads, pimple outbreaks, cysts, infected abscesses and scarring etc. Technically acne is called acne vulgaris. This sking disease can vary from quite mild to extremely severe. Acne is not just problems for teenagers. It can affect people from ages 10 through 40. It can also harm women usually in their mid to late 20's.There is no known cure for this disease, you come into this world with acne and you go out of this world with acne. The goal is to "control-control-control" during your lifetime. It happens when the pores of the skin become clogged with internally occurring oil known as Sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells.

Acne Causes

  1. It may be caused by overproduction of oil by skin.oily skin tends to have more acne problems.
  2. it is also caused by irregular shedding of dead skin cells which will be result in irritation of the hair follicles of skin.
  3. It also caused by build up of bacteria in skin.
  4. Heredity: With the exception of very severe acne, most people do not have the problem exactly as their parents did. Almost everyone has some acne at some point in their life.
  5. Some people have more oily skin than others. Dirt make the condition worse. Although sweat do not cause acne.

Acne Symptoms

  1. Rashes:Acne in starting appears as rash on the face as well as on neck. This can become a red and painful pustule.
  2. Blackhead:In acne a follicle plug made up of dried sebum, dead skin and hair cells as well as a skin chemical called melanin make is black. these are open comedone.
  3. Whitehead: A follicle appearing as a white or skin colored bump. These are closed comedone.
  4. Pimples:These are raised, reddish spots that signal inflammation or infection in the hair follicles.
  5. Cysts: Fluid-filled lump under the skin often produced by over-secreting gland.

Acne Treatment

  1. Just go for a nonprescription acne medicine and apply regularly. Drugs may be containing sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
  2. Topical treatments: Acne lotions may dry up the oil, kill bacteria and promote sloughing of dead skin cells.
  3. Antibiotics: for moderate to severe acne, prescription oral antibiotics may be needed to reduce bacteria. This need to be used with topical products.
  4. Cosmetic surgery: Doctors may be able to use cosmetic surgery to diminish scars left by acne.
  5. Intralesional corticosteroid therapy: If one or several painful acne cysts develop, fast relief is available with this relatively painless procedure. Each cyst is given a single injection of a dilute cortisone solution, using an ultrathin needle.
