Kohlrabi

It is a vegetable plant of the cabbage variety from which it differs in the swelled, turnip-like stem with a tuft of loose leaves on the top. This bulbous stem which may be six inches in diameter is used for human and as stock-food in America and Europe. Kohlrabi is a very rich source of vitamin C and minerals.

Benefit and uses of Kohlrabi.

  • Kohlrabi can be eaten sliced thin, raw in salads but is more typically steamed or used in stir-fries. It can also be boiled and mashed like a potato. The flavor is considerably enhanced with cooking.
